The Claude C. Ries Chapter of the American First Day Cover Society holds a Christmas Party every year for its members. Based around the consumption of baked potatoes, it is known as the 'Yule Tuber'.

A cover is prepared every year as a memento for the attendees - this year, an Icelandic FDC was chosen for the cover, rather than the customary current U.S. Holiday issue.

The two Icelandic stamps on this cover show two of the thirteen elfin YULE LADS that visit children on the 13 nights before Christmas and leave presents in the shoes they place on their windowsills . . . and the gifts can be good ones or nasty ones based on how the child has behaved in the months before the holiday!

This fold-out cachet depicts the 13 Yule Lads as POTATOES in keeping with the party's theme! An informative insert explains who each of the bearded Yule Lads is, and his particular characteristics!
