Here's a surprise find from the Bennett CACHETOONS archives - a 2009 fold-out FDC that has rarely been seen!The hard-working AFDCS DONATION AUCTION COMMITTEE sends out special THANK YOU FDCs to those members who donate covers and other items to their twice-yearly fund-raising effort. This particular cover was the fourth in that series.
Closed up to #6 3/4 size, it shows a cluttered back view of two armchairs and lots of first day covers on the floor, with two people apparently watching "Howdy Doody" on the TV.
But when the two side flaps are opened, the 8 members of the AFDCS Auction Committee are revealed to be the viewers, and the Howdy Doody stamp, from the Early TV Memories set of 20, is affixed at center, and cancelled with the USPS First Day of Issue DCP cancel!
While fitting perfectly into your album when folded, it is 16 1/2 incheswide when opened up!
The identities of each of the AFDCS Auction Committee Members are revealed on the reverse of the cover.
