Item Description
The Claude C. Ries Chapter - a motley crew of Southern California FDC collectors - gathers every Spring for a bountiful Mexican feast at the home of club member Shirley Ulling. Tacos, Enchiladas, Beans and anything edibly Mexican are on the menu!That's Shirley, feeding the swarm of Taco Butterflies that descended on the party in 2011.
This particular cover is franked with the then-recent 64¢ Monarch Butterfly stamp in combo with the 13¢ Swallowtail Butterfly from 1977.
These covers (there was an entire swarm of them) were cancelled near Shirley's home in Burbank, CA on March 19, 2011 (the day before the Sunday party) and handed out free to all the party-goers . . who were not hungrily running after the swarm of Taco Butterflies!
