Item Description
Sweden, Scott #1407 (Facit #1210), used (o) coil, 1982, 'The Wackarklockan' (Beautiful Clock) sketch by Swedish artist and sculptor Siri Derkert, stamp commemorates the life and work of Elin Wägner (1882-1949), Swedish writer and activist that espoused pacifism and woman's emancipation, a prolific writer, she wrote novels, articles in various daily newspapers, and screenplays for a number of films, some of her works have recently been translated into English with Stockholm Stories (2002), which contains two of her wittiest novels: 'Norrtullsligan' (Men and Other Misfortunes) of 1908 and 'Kvarteret Oron' (Stormy Corner) of 1919; stamp shows a sketch featuring a woodland image to focus on her 1941 non-fiction work 'Väckarklocka' (Alarm Clock) which foresees environmental issues; 1.35 krone, purple brown on grayish paper, steel recessed engraved, perforated 12½horizontal (imperforated left and right sides, customer torn perforations at the top and bottom), Scott 2019 catalog value: 50¢, nicely centered, quarter circular, black-inked, single-rimmed, corner touch cancellation at the top right and well clear of the central image, sound back, hinge remnant, good perforations; centering and image clear offset cancellation warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait and switch;' the stamp you see is the stamp you will receive. Please review my terms of sale. If you are not ordering from the United States, there is a $US1.50 additional postage expense that needs to be added to the price of the stamp. If you are ordering from the United States, there is only a $US0.66 added postage expense. Also, if you make additional purchases from my offerings, they can all go in one mailing at no extra shipping expense for the added purchases. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
By way of reference, I am an American Philatelic Society member (195176) and an American Stamp Dealers Association (ASDA) member. Thank you for looking, and I hope this is the perfect stamp to fill that gap in your collection.
