SCANDINAVIAN LABELS: Two items; includes scarce MILITARY THEMED LABEL from Sweden, first item is slightly oversize cover w 15o Linne coil, (Scott #294), pair tied by Arstad 20.3.40 CDS to the cover, Pa Post for Sverige labels (pair) placed next to the stamps, appear to belong but as they are UNTIED, it is difficult to prove, the translation is different depending on what source you use, but the best I have is "For the Front in Sweden," label was printed in 1940 to support the strengthening of Sweden's borders, even though they were neutral and remained neutral all during the war, shortly after the label was printed the Swedish Home Guard was formed, the cover is addressed Collinsville CT, USA, and is marked on reverse, Svart (responded) 5 July 1940, which would have been after the INVASION OF NORWAY AND DENMARK, cover has a sealed tear and some wrinkles, still very scarce, these labels are often seen on 1946 souvenir covers, they are also found tied in 1943 and offered as Field Post, but I believe that was a campaign to raise public awareness, this cover represents an ACTUAL usage of the stamps as intended, lot also includes a scarce Norway post card, mailed from Kristiania in 1910 with the SCARCE 1910 CHRISTMAS SEAL affixed, again untied, addr England, an interesting pair, Fine-VF
