Item Description

These normally have a red inscription that says "Nonprofit" at lower left.   The balance of the stamp is printed in deep claret.   In this case, it appears the deep claret was mistakenly applied over the entire stamp, then the red inscription was applied on top of the deep claret.   When the stamps were then pressed onto the paper, the red went down first with the deep claret on top of it, and it appears that the entire stamp is printed in deep claret.   Under close examination under a microscope, red can be detected under the deep claret ink covering the inscription.   But to the naked eye, it appears that the inscription was printed only in deep claret.  Picture showsStock Photo. .
