Item Description
An unusual reason for surcharging: the stamps were printed in the new currency (100 cents=1 shilling) but then the stamps were issued before the new currency was introduced and so were surcharged with the currency about to expire (pies, annas and rupees). the stamps have not been hinged but are toned on reverse.
