This stamp was issued to commemorate 100 aniversary of one of most traditional soccer clubs in uruguay called rampla juniors.
Stamp pictures great legends of the club like the 3 world cup winners in order Pedro Arispe who won olympic soccer gold medals of 1924 and 1928, then Enrique Ballestero who was the goalkeeper of Uruguay team in 1930, first world cup winner. Finally William Martinez who was champion in 1950.
Design is completed with the emblem of teh club who has pictured the Montevideo Hill fortress and ligthouse as this club is located in that area of the city. As an anecdotic info the club field is far from the sea a few meters and one can see it while a match is being play.
