Item Description

This cover was mailed from Shorncliffe Camp, Kent, England to Grandview, Vancouver, British Columbia franked with a 1d KGV issue tied by a circular datestamp (can't make out year). Shorncliffe Army Camp was a major staging area for troops headed for the Western Front during World War I.

The backflap, which had been opened by lifting, is fully intact and sports a gold embossing depicting a crown with maple leaf background that reads 'Canada' implying this cover was mailed by a Canadian serviceman.

A couple of mild diagonal creases. No contents or backstamps.
