Item Description

You will be receiving the exact scanned stamp shown, both front and back. This particular stamp is Scott's number 219D, the lake-colored 2 cent Washington stamp from the early 1890s series of presidents. The stamp is in mint hinged condition. On the back scan, you can see about 50% of the stamp still has original gum, while in the center the rest of the gum has been lost or obscured by the hinge remnant. There is a thinning in the back along the top edge, above the space where "states postage" is written in the banner. This thin causes the paper there to waver, though the stamp would lay flat and look great in an album! The centering is quite good, with adequate spacing between the vignette and perforations on all sides. This stamp has a CV=$160 in the 2020 Scott's Catalog.

No color adjustments or modifications have been done on the scan, though the color you'll see when looking at it in-person tends to look more vibrant and dynamic!
