Scott 18x2 and 20 vertical strip of 3 pos.80, 90 100L12on cover from Saratoga Springs, NY to Flint, Michigan paying the 3c rate.
Franked at left with a phenomenally scarce vertical strip of three 1¢ Franklins
(Position 80, 90 & 100L12), consisting of a pair of #18s and one #20 with
rounded corner top left. Strip tied by three closed socked on the nose
circular 7 bar grid cancelers alongside an exceptionally clear strike of a Saratoga
Springs, New York JUN 29 cds at right. Strip with natural straight edge at right,
due to its position being from the bottom right corner of Plate 12L. Cover slightly
nibbed at upper right, front with light pencil notations plus very faint circular red
pen mark and a couple tiny tears at bottom center, not detracting from its overall
appeal or scarcity. Back flap with minor white paper adherence and small area
of soiling most likely due to mounting at some point
