Hello! This auction is for a Scarce MINT NEVER HINGED Very Fine Single of Scott # 1284, the 6c Roosevelt definitive sheet stamp from the Prominent Americans series, untagged, Bureau Precanceled "CHICAGO ILL.", Precancel Stamp Society Type 71.The stamp is in excellent condition--there are no flaws. The gum has no skips or fingerprints.It is very uncommon to find these with mint never hinged gum. It was against postal regulations to sell precancel stamps to anyone other than permit holders prior to 1967. Subsequently, many dealers soaked off the gum to avoid the appearance of illegality.
