Hello! This auction is for a Scarce MINT NEVER HINGED Very Fine PAIR of Scott # 1229, the 5c Washington definitive of 1962, PRECANCELED "PITTSBURGH PA.", Precancel Stamp Society Style 71. The above scan is a stock scan, but the pair that you will receive will be virtually the same in centering and quality. Commonly found used, infrequently found with never hinged original gum. The Precancel Stamp Society Bureau Precancel Catalog, 5th Edition states: "Some collectors collect bureau precancels with gum. This is particularly challenging for issues before August 1967. Previously, sale of precancels to collectors was prohibited, and most dealers in bureaus soaked off the gum to avoid the appearance of violating postal regulations.
