Although the USPS continuously denied that their small definitive stamps of the '80s and '90s were part of a 'Flora and Fauna' series depicting US wildlife, these two small birds would like to argue otherwise, and also, while they're on their soapbox, protest against the tiny size of the stamps on which they appeared!Here's a set of three FDCs of the 1988 Saw Whet Owl and Rose Breasted Grosbeak booklet definitives - one cover for each, and a third for the pair. The cachets were each printed in two colors, and a bit of handcoloring was applied to the one franked with both stamps.
