Item Description

This cover was mailed from San Francisco to Del Monte, California in 1941 franked by a 3-cent bright violet Torch of Enlightenment - National Defense issue of 1940, Scott 901. A 'Buy Defense savings Bonds and Stamps' slogan machine cancel ties the stamp to the cover.

the Corner Card Reads:

Athletic Outfitters
626 Market Street
San Francisco - Calif.'

Slit / torn open left, the backflap is sealed and thinned on one side (see scan). Left upper and lower corners of front of cover pulled off (see scan). Del Monte machine cancel verso as an arrival marking with part of killer removed with flap end thinning (see scan). No contents.

The cover in the scan is the one you will receive. Light lines in images are SCANNER ARTIFACT!
