Item Description
The Claude C. Ries Chapter - an enthusiastic group of Southern California FDC collectors - gathers every summer for a bountiful BBQ at the home of a club member. Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Ice Cream and Watermelon are the staples!Last year, for the second summer in a row, we gathered at the Moreno Valley home of Gladys Jones, whose home is virtually a Winnie The Pooh museum. Temperatures hit 97˚, but we barely noticed, as we chowed down on the bounty of summertime goodies. We were even visited by the Ice Cream truck driven by a good friend of Gladys'!
That's Gladys smilingly checking over her shoulder on Pooh, unaware that Tigger is about to steal a burger from her! The cover is franked with the recent Global Forever round stamp depicting an African Daisy, and is FDoI cancelled with the colorful DCP for the issue.
This cover was given out to attendees of the annual summer get-together and very few were left over!
It was a great party . . . and nobody melted!
