Remember the MAGIC EYE fad of the 1990s, where if you stared at an illustration made up of a confusing jumble of images with your eyes relaxed and slightly crossed, a surprisingly 3-dimensional image would eventually pop out at you? Well, Guernsey took advantage of that low-tech optical magic and produced two stamps for their EUROPA issue of 1995 with the Magic Eye effect!

The EUROPA theme for that year was "Peace and Freedom" (with a DOVE featured in most countries' issues), and at first glance the two oversize stamps just appear to show a pattern of dove silhouettes. But if you relax your focus and stare at the stamps long enough, each of them eventually produce the larger image of a SCULPTED DOVE OF PEACE.! Pretty Neat!

This cover bears the two 'stereographic' stamps from Guernsey and two nice strikes of the official pictorial First Day of Issue cancels of May 9, 1995 that depict an Olive Branch of peace. The cachet shows a Dove of Peace a little bit dizzy from crossing his eyes as he holds one of the stamps out in front of him!

The reverse has the Puffin cachets logo, and shows that this is cover #2 of only 12 that were sent to Guernsey for servicing!
