Very Simply ... We are disposing of an Estate
from a long-time Philatelist.  One of the
more interesting collections accumulated by this Collector was a quality
Reference Collection of fakes, forgeries, altered and misidentified items.  Because we are responsible for disposing of
the entire Estate we are offering these 'reference items' with a yellow
background in the listing to clearly identify these are 'reference items'.   We must tell you that while we absolutely
respect the Expertizing Cert, we find it somewhat interesting that so many
stamps, purchased by the collector from different sources all have the same
opinion.  All of the stamps (which still remain for
sale) can be seen on Hip by CLICKING
HERE.   As part of our intake process we examined
these stamps and recommended that the Estate resubmit these for Certs to another
expertizing authority, however the Estate (family) were not knowledgeable
collectors and did not want to outlay and additional money.

 
Note:   While we sell each of these
'Reference Stamps' for what they are, we were recently contacted by someone who
purchased a reference coil with an Expertizing Cert stating 'Fake'.  This
Buyer reminded us that that the Expertizing Opinion is really just an
opinion.  He told us that he sent his item to another Expertizing Service
and received a 'Clean, Genuine' Certificate.  

Again, we are selling this
stamp as described on the cert.
