This book has been written from the greatest searcher of this area: Heinrich Kubli). In 1936 when Swiss post begun to use stamps printed by Courvoisier SA with the then the most modern Heliogravure (Photogravure) method, new types of regular plate flaws came up. The most common types are called : "Bean", "Snake", Morse "N", Morse "O", "Banana" and "Halo" - the varieties are to found exclusively on Courvoisier printed stamps (specially during WW2, when it was impossible for Courvoisier to order new particular glass printing-plates from Germany, that would have been necessary for flawless printing.

As these glass plates had been used (and reused) in several positions the same plate flaws may appear at a particular position or changed by 90° or 180°. The research of these plate flaws is very popular in Switzerland, as they appear on mostly cheap and reachable but very attractive stamps - they may appear in any glassine of Swiss duplication and stock or overstock of the concerned period.

The book explains the printing method and the historic circumstances lists and quotes all Swiss stamps concerned (1936-49). The book contains also some stamps from Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Belgian Congo, that were printed also by Courvoisier in the same period. The flaws are quoted never hinged, used and on cover from a few to several hundred Swiss Francs, an opportunity for searchers to find undiscovered varieties!

The catalog lists much more varieties (of this kind) as any other catalog treating Swiss varieties.
