Rare unique complete set of 34 1938 presidential first day covers from famed postmaster general james farley to washington dc postmaster william v burke whose name is often seen on autographed 1930s fdcs.............
Matched address to burke. 6 or 7 of the envelopes have flaps opened to reveal a signed james farley letter distinct for each issue! The rest of the envelopes can be easily opened with judicious use of clear stamplift fluid to retrieve the rest of the contents. The envelopes are not totally sealed to the edges, mostly just the middle part which makes it much easier.

I have held the envelopes up to light and can easily see that there is a signed farley letter in every one except for the 10c issue. ........Also i can see that from the 13c issue up to $5 issue there are separate uspod 3rd assistant postmaster general info sheets enclosed, distinct for each issue!
Last dealer had this set priced at $1750!
It's possible this is a unique set and will not be seen again!
All are on matching postmaster general embossed envelopes, upper right corner
High value $1, $2 and $5 issue are all plate # singles, an added bonus!
I have seen just the $2 issue without the james farley letter or inset priced at $83!

Envelopes and letters are on high quality paper! All clean and crisp! These have been handled very little in the last 84 years! Some gum line toning often seen from this period.............
