Item Description
PROMOTIONAL MAILER ca 1987 for "HITLER YOUTH" BOOK: 22c Meter Stamp, (from Somerset KY), Sep 27 1987 date, on folded mailer in legal size, addr NYC NY, with illustration for a new book from Agincourt Publishers, "The Hitler Youth" by David Littlejohn, second scan shows it opened to front and reverse, but it opens to four full panels within, which are loaded with photos used in the book, cover was apparently mis-delivered or processed in Ferguson KY, as the mailer has a four-bar cancel from this location, canceled the day after the meter stamp, very rare piece of mail, pencil mark on reverse, VFDavid Littlejohn's book is considered the most important work on the Hitler Youth Movement. These books are OOP and scarce. The mailer is even rarer.
It's interesting to note how the photo on the front of the cover was edited to conceal offensive elements. Even so, I don't think this would pass through the mailstream today. Very scarce item for the postal historian. This lot cannot be shipped outside of the US and Canada
Please no cash or stamps.
