SCARCE PEN-MAR THEATRE MAILER: Roughly 8" x 11.5" mailer from the Pen-Mar Theatre in Cardiff Maryland (actually the border town of Delta-Cardiff which straddles Harford County Maryland and York County Pennsylvania), for April & May 1943 (one month per side), these mailers have the schedules for films shown for the two upcoming months and were placed in all boxes in Cardiff (they bear a Cardiff MD postal permit #1), aside from being a great piece of local history and having collectibility as a commercial postal "cover", they also have many interesting films and stars mentioned: Judy Garland in For Me and My Gal, John Payne & Randolph Scott in To the Shores of Tripoli, also Bette Grable, Roy Rogers, Red Skelton, Hedy Lamarr, Rita Hayworth, etc, etc, quite a few War related, with notice that wartime restrictions may change the program "without notice," some toning and soiling, folded, tiny piece out at bottom, still these mailers were used and this is about as nice as they come, very desirable in any condition, quite a piece of history, Fine.
