US: coupon from a Commisioner of Patents, rcvd MARCH 2 1951, cnl w UNIVERSAL STYLE machine "CANCEL" dated MAR 8 1951, "CANCELLED" IN DIAL and even with a slogan: PATENT OFFICE COUPONS SAVE TIME, this is the only machine cancel of this type I have ever seen, looking around on the Internet provided no clues, I know a simple handstamp was used before and after this date, so I'm guessing the machine cnl was used ROUGHLY from 1947 TO ABOUT 1952, REMINDS ME OF METER STAMPS USED TO COUNT WIRE (SAME PITNEY-BOWES DEVICE AS A POSTAGE METER), needs someone to jump in and do some research, one file fold, FINE -VF item.I will combine shipping. Just ask.
