Somewhat Difficult to Find Medicine Stamp
THE 2021 SCOTT SPECIALIZED CATALOGTM (Page #770) MENTIONS THAT THESE
Stamps were usually removed from the original package in a somewhat
Non-philatelic manor and in general and may be somewhat faulty.
Scott notes that fine to very-fine private die stamps
Are valued as 'somewhat faulty' - this is a nice stamp
We note a smallish thin area visible on rear of stamp
These are the little things that give medicine stamps their character
But mentioned in the interest of complete objectivity
very much value priced accordingly
EX: COLLECTION OF AMBASSADOR MIDDENDORF & WARREN COLSON
An outstanding opportunity to acquire this private die proprietary stamp
we stand behind every stamp that we sell
No reserve - we price everything to sell - quick shipping
Very simply ... We are honored to be disposing of the estate
from a truly exceptional philatelist and proudly, a prior client of ours. This Collector was very well known in the high-end auction, private treaty and dealer community. He specialized in United States issues and had a discerning eye for quality, along with the financial means to acquire whatever he set his sights on. We have come to realize that one of his true passions were Private Die Proprietary Stamps. The provenance of his collection traces back to pre World War II with a significant part of his collection originating from the Ambassador J. William Middendorf II collection formed with the assistance of Warren H. Colson. Much of his collection was sold by Robert A. Siegel Auction GalleriesTM over multiple sales from which much of this material originated. This collection was one of the finest assemblage of Private Die Stamps, it is truly breathtaking in quality and completeness.
In 25+ years of selling United States stamps, this is one of the very best collections (and certainly a world-class Private Die collection) in terms or both quality and depth that we have seen. To give you an indication of how vast this collection is, from an internal planning perspective, we estimate that it will take us 8,000 to 11,000 man-hours to properly scan & describe every stamp in this exceptional collection. We have posted an ultra high-definition (1200 x 1200) scan of the front and back of the actual stamp. Please read our feedback, we enjoy a 25+ year reputation of excellent descriptions, images and exceptionally fast
shipping. Of course, we stand behind
every stamp that we sell. The
overwhelming majority of our listings sell very quickly.
A word about us, WE HAVE BEEN SELLING ON Hip FOR 25 YEARS. As you may have seen from
our listings, we sell larger philatelic and numismatic holdings in conjunction
with various Estate Trustees. We work with these Trustees to price

an exceptionally low Buy-It-Now price to promote a quick sale. Only actual photos are shown with this listing. We enjoy an excellent reputation and we
pride ourselves in a very large percentage of repeat buyers for our Estate
