Item Description
2020 Scott CV = $10. I describe the stamp as well as I can to the best of my ability and knowledge, and if I list a stamp that is notoriously known to be reprinted or forged, I'll mention it, and none are guaranteed to be originals. If you buy a stamp or collection from me and find that a stamp has been described incorrectly or it is not as described, please return the stamp to me for a full refund.Stamps listed as "Unused, Hinged", "Unused, No Gum" or "Used" may have hinge remnants remaining-- if I can't remove a hinge perfectly without the chance of damaging the stamp, I'll leave that for the buyer. If you ever find a thin under a hinge remnant after you remove it, please email me. "Unused, Hinged" may have damaged or incomplete gum, or else I'll list the stamp as "Unused, No Gum".
When I have multiples from a lot I've purchased, for the unused stamps or inexpensive used stamps, I may offer only one image. This way, I'm able to list some of those countries with low C.V., but difficult to find.
For those who make offers, most importantly, I want to offer stamps at low prices, and look forward to your offers that are fair to both of us! I've made my pricing very competitive, and usually check around this site and Hip to ensure that I'm the best price. So, if I'm already for an item that you want to offer, the best price on HipStamp, I'm may not accept your offer. Also, my minimum price for any stamp is $.20, and if there are offers for less than that amount, I’ll deny those offers.
I'm a worldwide generalist, and not an expert on forgeries and reprints. For countries that are notorious for forgeries, reprints, specifically for the listings I have for Fiume, Haiti and Iran, I make no claim that the stamps are originals, and they are priced as such. For stamps from Russia, although some are obviously CTO, I will list as used, because the used value in Scott is for CTO. Postally used stamps are worth considerably more per Scott, but I am not pricing them any higher than the CTO stamps. When considering whether CTO, used or "postally used", if there is a clear cancel with a complete date in the date range for when the stamp was issued and used, I price as "postally used", but again, make no claims as to their authenticity. If the buyer is not satisfied, any stamp can be returned for a full refund.
FOR BUYERS OUTSIDE THE U.S.-- Due to some recent issues with buyers "not receiving" shipments, for any non-U.S. shipment, if it is the first time that I have shipped to you, I will send you first an email through the HipStamp system and ask you to provide me your address, the way that you would address a letter to yourself. Sometimes, due to the way that the address is collected by HipStamp, it causes confusion to sellers and postal workers if the information that goes into the "State" field is included in the address, when it wouldn't normally be used in that country.
3 websites that I'd recommend--
Big Blue-- If you're a World Collector and haven't seen Jim Jackson's "Big Blue" site, which inspired me to collect the world again in 2018 (I'm 65, and I haven't collected the world since I was 15), you can find his site, "Big Blue" checklist and wonderful descriptions of every country at: "bigblue1840-1940 dot blogspot dot com".
Stamp Community Forum is a great venue for all types of collectors, all ages and all collecting interests. Find this at:
"stampcommunity dot org".
Stampsmarter is a great site that Don Denman has put a great amount of effort and time into. Many different references and books for download, a depository for all plate positions of the US 3c 1851, and some great references for US Stamp identification. Find this at: "stampsmarter dot com".
Thanks again, and please come back again and again!!
