Granin Daniil Aleksandrovich (1919-2017) - writer, screenwriter, public figure. He was born in the family of a Forester on January 1, 1919. In 1940 he graduated from the Electromechanical faculty of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute, worked at the front and served until the end of the war in the tank forces. From 1946 to 1950 he worked at Lenenergo and the research Institute. He began his literary activity in the late 1940s, his first publication was the story "Option two".
Early works were devoted to scientific and technical progress, research scientists.
