POSTAL CARD grouping with BETTER CANCELS: NINE, ca 1887-1899; 1c Postal Cards, (Scott #UX9, UX12 & UX14), all used, FOUR are #UX12 incl Maltese Cross (Bold strike - see close up in second scan), Baltimore originated card with Purple NYPO Address Supplied marking, truly unusual large Erin NY received (Bold DCDS), unfortunately that card has stains, and the final UX12 used LaPorte IN to Chicago, marked for General Delivery with ms Transient - General Delivery, the General Delivery hs is in Red and inverted, FOUR #UX9 incl eight bar grid, perfectly fits over image of Jefferson, perfectly struck and very unusual, purple Sharon WI duplex w target on clean card, Excelsior WI large Violet duplex, final UX9 is from York Sulphur Springs (small PA town), #UX14 has Rare Newton Highlands LARGE duplex w/ TWO lines of text, addr to dealer Thomas Hale in Yonkers, condition varies, some light wear to be expected, still very unusual group, it was originally priced by a dealer at over $100, Fine-VF.
