Item Description

The stamps in this listing are a complete set of seven (7) stamps issued for the then-French colony of New Caledonia. The stamps were ordinary definitives until being overprinted in 1903 to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of French New Caledonia. This set was also overprinted with new values.

All stamps in the listing are MH, with the following exceptions: #83 (the 4c on 5c green, second from right in the top row) is Mint, No gum. #86 (10c on 15c gray, middle of the bottom row), appears to be never hinged. (If not, it is MVLH)

New Caledonia was annexed to, and colonized by, France in 1853. Following turmoil in the 1980's, a 1998 accord was signed which requires an independence referendum to be held before 2019, and could result in a new nation in the Pacific. New Caledonia is the fourth largest Pacific economy, following only behind Australia, New Zealand, and Hawai`i.

Paypal, Money Orders, and Checks payable in the US are accepted. Credit cards accepted through paypal only. Checks must be drawn on a US bank, or I cannot cash them! (I can no longer accept Canadian Postal Money Orders, even those in US dollars-sorry!)

International: 14 days from the 7th day after the item is sent.
