Handpainted watercolour trial on cream card measuring 257 x 200 mm of eventual 55c Canoa value from boats commemorative set issued 8 October 1980. Very similar to issued design. Lacking only crew and inscriptions. Signed by artist Jennifer M Toombs and inscribed 'Drawing for Nevis Ships stamp issue (trial).' Wonderful frontispiece for any Nevis or boats-themed collection. Unique and fine. Offered with first day cover featuring final design.
