A friendly mail carrier serves his customer with a smile despite that annoying pain in his butt!This lively stamp was issued to celebrate the centennial of the National Association of Letter Carriers and was illustrated by legendary cartoonist Jack Davis! Famous for his work in the early MAD Magazines, he has more of his paintings c=grace the covers of TIME Magazine than any other cartoonist!
This is the only white-envelope version of this cachet that has been hand-tinted by the artist.
The cachet was offset-printed in black and blue . . just like the letter carrier's backside will be when he gets home tonight!
