Item Description

Issue No. 139 (January-March 2001) of Portu-Info, published by the International Society for Portuguese Philately, included an article about forgeries of this stamp. The forgeries were often on the wrong paper with 12x11½ perforations. Also, the right end of the colored bar through the original stamp value in the forgeries was offset relative to the surcharge value. This stamp appears to have all the characteristics of a genuine stamp.

The base paper is yellow. The stamp has no gum and has been lightly hinged. There is a light pencil notation on the back as well.
