Item Description
The Confederate Flag: 1934-2016;Banned from that OTHER site for NO good reason!!!!!
THE Confederate Flag: 1934-2016; Modern usages lot incl Confederate Pension Check envelope, THREE covers with some bonuses, first is the rare but aging Pension check envelope w 3c NRA (Scott #732), flts, tied by Austin TX Mar 31 1934 machine cnl to window env, on legal size env w Confederate 13 star flag, this envelope was used for pension checks, a study of history reveals only an indigent vet or widow could receive these pensions and you had to live Texas for twenty years before qualifying, some simple math tells me these are quite rare, there is another one on Hip for three times as much money, cover has been folded, is toned, and has major repairs effected with archival tape, still remarkably uncommon and that is not the only quality item here! 1955 cover from the Confederate Stamp Alliance has a faux 150% sized stamp (#1), tied by Norfolk "cancel" to cover with waving 13 star flag, bit of a stain at center top, the stamp looks to be a Tatham piece but everything about the text screams Dietz, perhaps he used the drawings from his "die proofs" to make this repro, hard to believe he would do this while Tatham was still foisting his drawings around as their own creations, never seen this one before, you also have to wonder if they come with other CSA issues, also a 1985 legal size cover with Confederate Flag as c/c, permit paid handstamp franks the cover from Franklin TN to Mrs. Rudy in Nashville (the famous collector), content is an invite to a house tour in Franklin and also has the flag on it! In addition to the letter there are two TICKETS to the event. These tkts show a map of the tour. Bonus: a 2016 legal size cover (to me) with three State Flag bicentennial stamp (#1635-37) including the now-pseudo-controversial Georgia flag incorporating the Confederate flag design, also 1c Apple stamps making this 47c postage, A WONDERFUL LOT! FINE-VF
It would be impossible to duplicate this lot.
