MAURITIUS 1859 2d DEEP BLUE ON GREYISH, LAPIROT (ENGRAVER) FINE EARLY IMPRESSION WITH CLEAR BACKGROUND LINES, SG 36, SCOTT 14, FU, CAT £3,250($4,322).................SCOTT CAT. $3,500

Fine used with excellent strong blue color, nice even margins on 3 sides touching to just in on 4th side, a typical barred oval cancel with no number, with a few specs of black offset on an otherwise clean reverse side.

Very scarce 1859 2d deep blue on greyish, lapirot fine early impression issue in fine used condition.

Condition Notes for Mint Stamps
UMM = Unmounted Mint - never previously hinged (nh) mint stamps with no gum disturbance

VLMM = Very Lightly Mounted Mint - No hinge remainder but has very slight gum disturbance which may have been caused by a hinge.

LMM = Lightly Mounted mint clear evidence of having been previously mounted but light with full original gum

MM = Mounted Mint - clear evidence of having been mounted with hinge remainder(s) on back

Unused = No gum
