Mark Twain was not only a brilliant writer, he had impeccable taste in politicians, as evidenced by his real-life endorsement of Ohio Governor Rutherford B. Hayes (whose bicentennial of birth was just recently celebrated on October 4) during the presidential campaign of 1876!This combo FDC bears the Mark Twain forever stamp of 2011, along with the Twain stamp from the Famous Americans series, and the 11¢ Hayes stamp of 1922! All three are cancelled with the official Digital Color Postmark of June 25, 2011.
