Item Description

This business size Air Mail cover was mailed from Manilla in the Philippines to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania in 1935 franked by a strip of 4 of the 30c orange red Trans Pacific Air Mail issue (Scott C53) and a strip of 3 of the rose carmine 10c issue (Scott C52), both issued in 1935 (and used here on December 18th, sixteen days after they were issued.).

The stamps are cancelled by Station-1 barred, elliptical killer duplex handstamps.

The envelope has printed: Winged airmail logo in red, and 'Philippine Islands' in blue at bottom left; manuscript: 'via Philippines Clipper; a rectangular 'Air Mail' handstamp in purple.

Slit open top, the backflap has been removed. Some file staple holes at lower left, and some of the stamps are faulty with corner creasing (see scan). No contents or backstamps.

The cover in the scan is the one you will receive. Light lines in images are SCANNER ARTIFACT!
