Item Description
Very scarce forgery of a stamp missing from almost all collections. No mention on the back that the stamp is a forgery. Has not been attributed to any known forger. Story goes at one point a long time ago this stamp was part of the Royal Philatelic Society of London's reference collection and went missing. They have the picture but not the stamp. Picture of this stamp is used by many experts around the world as a reference. This stamp was part of a Straits Settlements' collection I purchased more than 30 years ago from a now retired well known Montreal dealer. The mark at top on the back is a folded hinge.
