Malaya Straits Settlements 1883 2c on 12c Blue, Watermark Crown CC, Scott 62, SG 62, MLH/LMM, Cat $425........SG cat. £475($670)

Very fresh with sharp color, well centered, with only very light evidence of hinging on otherwise full original gum.

Very nice and scarce 1883 2c on 12c Blue, Watermark Crown CC issue in very fine mint condition.

The overprint is of course guaranteed but it is worth noting that the un-overprinted stamp has a catalogue value of $180 (SG £250($352))

Condition notes for mint stamps
UMM = Unmounted Mint - never previously hinged (nh) mint stamps with no gum disturbance

VLMM = Very Lightly Mounted Mint - No hinge remainder but has very slight gum disturbance which may have been caused by a hinge.

LMM = Lightly Mounted mint clear evidence of having been previously mounted but light with full original gum

MM = Mounted Mint - clear evidence of having been mounted with hinge remainder(s) on back

Unused = No gum
