Malaya Straits Settlements 1880 5c on 8c Orange, Scott type n, SG type 14, Scott 29, SG 42, MLH/LMM, Cat $170 .......SG Cat £190($228)

Very fresh with excellent color, well centered, with only light evidence of hinging on otherwise full original gum.

Scarce 1880 5c on 8c Orange, Scott type n, SG type 14, issue in very fine mint condition ............. The overprint is of course guaranteed but it worth noting that this item has a catalogue value of $240 without the surcharge overprint.

Condition notes for mint stamps:-

UMM = Unmounted Mint - never previously hinged (nh) mint stamps with no gum disturbance

VLMM = Very Lightly Mounted Mint - No hinge remainder but has very slight gum disturbance which may have been caused by a hinge.

LMM = Lightly Mounted mint clear evidence of having been previously mounted but light with full original gum

MM = Mounted Mint - clear evidence of having been mounted with hinge remainder(s) on back

UN - Unused = No gum
