The maine and mass postmarks on paper i am listing are mostly single strikes on paper slips. These may be 1) _facing slips used for bins where mail is being sorted_, 2) _training papers used to show clerks how to use a postmark device_ or 3) _recognition papers to show rpo clerks the location of various post offices_ (a different kind of training). All three exist, though the third possibility is more likely with rpo pmks and there are only a few in this group (this lot doesn't have an rpo but does have the rpo header).
