Literacy Volunteers of America, Inc. FDC. First Day of Issue Ceremony Program for the dedication of Scott #2788a (#s2785-88) 29c - Block of Four Different - Literacy - Children's Classics stamps, FDOI, October 23, 1993, Louisvile, Kentucky. Like the Jefferson stamp there was no officially published ceremony program. The Children's Classics stamps were dedicated as part of the LVA Farewell Luncheon. The event is described in an article by Leo Stawicki (The Ceremonial. Publication of the American Ceremony Program Society), January 15, 1994: "Since they were table favors, not many survived in good condition ... being part of the table top during the luncheon." The program in this listing survived in excellent condition It has the official first day of issue cancellation and the ceremony event pictorial cancellation - Literacy Volunteers of America Conference '93 Station, Louisville, Kentucky, October 23, 1993. Program measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".
