This is the first time in philately that Progressive Proofs were issued which illustrate every stage of the printing process. The imperforate progressive impressions are: 1. yellow 2. red 3. yellow + red (Second Printing Stage) 4. black 5. black + yellow + red (Third Printing Stage) 6. light blue 7. yellow + red + black + light blue (Fourth Printing Stage) 8. dark blue 9. yellow + red + black + light blue + dark blue (Fifth Printing Stage) 10. pink 11. yellow + red + black + light blue + dark blue + pink (Sixth and Final Printing Stage) 12. the finished perforated stamp overprinted SPECIMEN in red.
