Printed and hand painted FDC by cachetmaker Julian Pugh for the 20-cent Purple Heart embossed envelope issued Aug. 6, 1982, in Washington, DC. Cachet by H.I. Swindall features the Purple Heart medal in a box with text. USPS metal die four bar FDoI cancel. Artist signature, cachetmaker logo and signature, and numbered on face. Additional signature of Purple Heart Medal recipient Keith D. Hawkins for wounds received at the WWII Battle of Iwo Jima.
