The 34¢ HAPPY BIRTHDAY stamp of 2022 was issued on famous French author JULES VERNE's birthday! He would have been 174 years old, but apparently would have still enjoyed a big slice of chocolate birthday cake!This FDC for the new special occasion issue is a combo with the ICELAND stamp that shows the extinct volcanic mountain - _Snæfellsjökull_ - that provided the gateway to the underworld in VERNE's 1864 novel 'Journey to the Center of the Earth'. There's a special text box added to the cachet explaining this -- ONLY 2 covers were prepared this way!
