Hand painted combo FDC on 6" x 9" card stock by cachet artist Judith Fogt for the $7.50 Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation (Duck) Stamp issued Jul. 2, 1984, in Washington, DC. USPS large rubber bullseye cancels the Federal Duck Stamp and 1978 CAPEX Mallard and Canada Goose pair. Two additional USPS large rubber bullseyes cancel a 1966 Migratory Bird Treaty stamp and a 1968 Waterfowl Conservation stamp. Signed on face with additional notation "Mallard"; Ringold Stamp Company rubber stamp on back. There is a light stain above and to the left of the Federal Duck Stamp, which appears to be missing its light blue background color; in fact, it is only faded. Sam Houston Ducks informed me that this is not uncommon for this stamp, although it is the only one that I have seen. Nevertheless, this is a beautiful cachet. It is not numbered, so don't know how many were made. Many artists produced limited edition covers for Ringold Stamp Company.
