RARE UNOFFICIAL FD of KENNEDY Stamp autographed by MALCOLM O PERRY, attending physician to Kennedy & Oswald: 5c JFK memorial issue; (Scott #1246), tied to Artcraft cachet FDC by UNOFFICIAL Dallas TX 29 May 1964 FD cnl, unaddressed, signed by Malcolm O Perry MD, lot also includes the ORIGINAL TRANSMITTAL ENVELOPE with Perry's c/c and addressed to Mr. Ward Crowley, a well-known autograph collector who assembled many FDCs with various autographs, I believe the reclusive Perry is one of the rarest and is especially desirable with the transmittal envelope, very exciting Kennedy item! VF

Malcolm Oliver Perry (b 1929-d 2009) is a physician, most famous for his treatment of President John F Kennedy after the assassination Nov 22 1963. Two days later he was also attending physician to Lee Harvey Oswald. Perry attempted to leave the Dallas area but was followed by a UPI reporter. A news story about him was published in the New York Herald-Tribune. Dr. Perry found the article in poor taste, and said it was "ethically damaging" to him. He did testify before the Warren Commission. Dr. Perry very rarely spoke about the assassination except to say it was a terrible day.
