Item Description

Ireland (Éire), Scott #331, used(o), 1973, Berlin Blues I, by William Scott (1913-1989), a Scottish-born, British artist, mostly associated with Northern Ireland, where he moved with his family as a young child; best known for still life and abstract painting; he is the most internationally celebrated of 20th-century Ulster painters; stamp shows his "Berlin Blues I" of which there are at least 6 versions, 5 pence, light blue, blue, and dark blue, Scott 2019 catalog value: 30¢. Nicely centered, light, three-quarter circular, double-rimmed, broken-up, socked-on-the-nose cancellation with partial mailing details over the main image, sound back, good perforations. This is not a 'bait and switch' offer. The stamp you see will be the one you receive.
