India 1937 Rocket Mail Special Scout Stamp Overprint Smith signed MNH 15583 1937 Feb 1 7 All India Scouts Jamboree Rocket Mail orange label overprinted Bengal Girl Guides Rally 2-3-37 Signed by Mr Stephen Smith On the occasion of the Girl Guides Rally held in Calcutta during the visit of Lady Baden Powell on 2nd March 1937 two propaganda rockets Nos 7 and 8 were fired at the rally Rocket No 7 was fired by Lady Baden Powell herself and it carried 30 covers bearing an orange special Scout Stamp overprinted in three lines Bengal Girl Guides rally 2-3-37 and tied with a circular cachet According to Smith catalog only 500 stamps were issued
