The common EUROPA stamp design theme for 2019 is 'National Birds' and Iceland complied by issuing a pair of stamps depicting two fearsome birds of prey - the White-Tailed Eagle and the Gyrfalcon (long a national symbol of this island nation).In this cachet they both seem to have come up with the same idea for dinner - a scared little Puffin!
This cover bears two nice strikes of the official First Day of Issue cancel from Reykjavík with its ring made up of little silhouettes of the gyrfalcon in various states of flight!
The reverse bears the Puffin Cachets logo and shows this to be cover #1 of 20 serviced.
