This 5-cent blue Air Post Government Stamped Envelope was mailed from Honolulu, Hawai'i to New York City in 1931 and was cancelled by a machine cancellation.

the Cachet Reads:
'First Pacific Coast Experimental Flight of Air Mail Shore to Ship January 24, 1931,
Curtiss-Wright Flying Service, Glendale, Calif.,
Los Angeles Steamship Company,' and pictures a plane, a hula dancer, and the S.S. City of Los Angeles.

Verso has a purple 'Received Jan. 24, 1931 S.S. City of Los Angeles' Handstamp, the cover's serial number, and the printed signature of F.I. Hamma, the ship's Master/Captain.

The backflap is sealed and intact. No contents.
