Heritage is a valuable and unique asset of each city which bears witness to its development. To enhance heritage conservation in the territory, the government rolled out the revitalising historic buildings through partnership scheme (the revitalisation scheme) in 2008 which aims not only to preserve historic buildings, but also to develop them into remarkable cultural landmarks and put them to good and innovative use. Hongkong post issues a set of six special stamps on “revitalisation of historic buildings in hong kong”, depicting the historical background of the six historic buildings under batch i of the revitalisation scheme and their usage after revitalisation, with the objective of enhancing public understanding of the conservation and revitalisation of historic buildings.

$1.40 – YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel
YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel was formerly known as Mei Ho House (Block 41 of Shek Kip Mei Estate). Built in 1954, Shek Kip Mei Estate was the first public housing estate in Hong Kong. YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel is expected to come into operation in mid-2013. Apart from providing dormitory service, Mei Ho House of Livelihood, highlighting the historical development of Sham Shui Po and Shek Kip Mei as well as aspects of life in resettlement blocks, will also be set up. The stamp features YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel and, on the right, a globe, a map and a rucksack, to symbolise tourism.

$1.80 – The Yuen Yuen Institute “Fong Yuen Study Hall”
“Fong Yuen Study Hall”, originally constructed during the 1920s and 1930s, is believed to have been a small private school built for the children in Ma Wan. The Yuen Yuen Institute “Fong Yuen Study Hall” was completed and opened in March 2013. Classrooms on the ground floor have been transformed into the Ma Wan Museum to showcase the lives of Ma Wan residents; classrooms and the lobby on the first floor will be used for promoting Chinese traditional and cultural education. The stamp represents The Yuen Yuen Institute“Fong Yuen Study Hall”with exhibits of Chinese writing brushes, an inkstone and a bamboo fish basket showcased inside the Hall, on the left.

$2.40 – Jao Tsung-I Academy
Jao Tsung-I Academy was previously known as Lai Chi Kok Hospital. Built between 1921 and 1924, the hospital was used successively as a quarantine depot, prison, hospital and health care centre for mental patients. Opened in June 2012, Jao Tsung-I Academy (Phase One), transformed from the hospital, is part of a conservation project with a portfolio of historic buildings, art exhibitions and outdoor scenic areas. The stamp depicts the Jao Tsung-I Academy, with the works of Professor Jao Tsung-I and a Kunqu character on the left.

$2.50 – Hong Kong Baptist University School of Chinese Medicine – Lui Seng Chun
Hong Kong Baptist University School of Chinese Medicine – Lui Seng Chun, was formerly known as Lui Seng Chun. Built around 1931 and owned by Mr Lui Leung, the ground floor of the building was occupied by a Chinese bone-setting medicine shop named “Lui Seng Chun” while the upper floors served as living quarters for members of the Lui family. Hong Kong Baptist University School of Chinese Medicine – Lui Seng Chun commenced operation in April 2012, offering a Chinese medicine out-patient service and diversified specialty services to the community. The stamp illustrates Hong Kong Baptist University School of Chinese Medicine – Lui Seng Chun, with Chinese brass herb tea containers and a Chinese medicine cabinet commonly found in Chinese medicine shops pictured on the right.

$3 – Tai O Heritage Hotel
Tai O Heritage Hotel, the former Tai O Police Station, is composed of two buildings, with the Main Building completed in 1902 and the Outhouse block in 1962. Tai O Heritage Hotel, opened in February 2012, provides nine distinguished guestrooms and suites. A publicly-accessed Heritage Interpretation Centre was also set up to illustrate the history of the former police station and that of the Tai O people. The stamp portrays the Tai O Heritage Hotel, featuring a hotel guestroom on the bottom right.

$5 – SCAD Hong Kong
SCAD Hong Kong is the former North Kowloon Magistracy, built in 1960 to handle offences within the Kowloon district. SCAD Hong Kong has offered different courses on animation, advertising design, photography, illustrations and more, for local and overseas students since commencement of service in September 2010. The project aims to develop Hong Kong as a regional art and design educational hub and improve its global competitiveness in the creative industry. The stamp shows SCAD Hong Kong, and displays different artistic tools and pieces of art produced by the students on the left.

Shipping & Handling Fee
I am trying to offer the lowest shipping fee if possible. The item will be sent out via USPS standard mail (or first class mail) with no tracking number. I will take a picture of the package as proof of delivery. The shipping fee is listed as below -

* First Item (International) - BETWEEN USD $1.83 AND USD $5.84, DEPENDS ON THE DESTINATION
* Each eligible additional item (USA / International) - USD $0.10 (see combined shipping discount), independent of size and destination

Combined Shipping Discount
